PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a pulley device having high cost efficiency in manufacturing and sufficient mechanical characteristics, including a case when an inner ring and an outer ring are comparatively thin.SOLUTION: A pulley device 2 for a chain or a belt includes two rolling bearings 20A, 20B, each having an inner ring 22A, 22B, an outer ring 24A, 24B rotatable relative to the inner ring around a shared central axis X2, a row of rolling elements 26A, 26B mounted in a rolling chamber 28A, 28B defined between the inner ring and the outer ring, and means 16, 50, 60 for exerting an axial load E, R parallel to the shared central axis X2 onto the outer rings 24A, 24B.
