PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector that improves accuracy of an optical axis alignment between a plug and a receptacle by preventing an adhesion of a foreign matter without undertaking complicate foreign matter measures as to the connector performing an optical transmission, and can be easily used by even persons other than persons skilled in the art.SOLUTION: A plug 101 of a connector 100 performing optical transmission comprises an optical connection unit 6. The optical connection unit 6 includes, on a lateral face of the optical connection unit 6, a lens 9 that performs an optical connection to a lens 55 included in an optical connection unit 53 of a receptacle 102 in a direction orthogonal to an insertion/pull-out direction of the plug 101, and includes, on the lateral face of the optical connection unit 6, an alignment face 10 that abuts against an alignment face 56 of the receptacle 102 and determines a position of the optical connection unit 6 in an engagement state of the plug 101 and receptacle 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
