PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel anti-inflammatory polypeptide derived from phycobiliprotein included in red algae which are marine resources, and to provide an anti-inflammatory composition containing this.SOLUTION: The invention provides a polypeptide consisting of a specific amino acid sequence, or an amino acid sequence in which 1-3 amino acid residues of the specific amino acid sequence are substituted or deleted, or an amino acid sequence in which 1-3 amino acid residues are added to the specific amino acid sequence, and having anti-inflammatory activity; and an anti-inflammatory composition containing the polypeptide. The polypeptide and the anti-inflammatory composition are available as a polypeptide or an anti-inflammatory composition excellent in safety, derived from algae which are natural marine resources.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
