PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and control method that allow a threshold voltage compensation ability to be enhanced.SOLUTION: A display device is provided that comprises a display unit having a pixel circuit including a light emitting element and drive transistor in a matrix way, and the pixel circuit comprises: a display data update circuit that has a display data holding capacity; a threshold voltage compensation circuit that has a threshold voltage holding capacity; and a switch transistor that is connected to two holding capacities. When a display data update is performed and a drive threshold voltage compensation is performed, the two holding capacities are electrically disconnected, and when the light emitting element is emitted, the two holding capacities are electrically connected. The display data update circuit is configured to update display data in a state where a threshold voltage is held in the threshold voltage capacity. The threshold voltage compensation circuit is configured to compensate the threshold voltage of the drive transistor in a state where the display data is held in the display data holding capacity, and a threshold voltage compensation is performed in a plurality of pixel circuits at a time, and the display data update is line-sequentially performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
