PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a state where a residual amount of developer in a container is small.SOLUTION: A powder detection device for detecting a residual amount of flowable powder in a container, includes: a magnetic flux sensor 10 that outputs a signal with a frequency corresponding to a state of a magnetic flux passing through an opposing space; a diaphragm 201 that is arranged inside the container to face the magnetic flux sensor 10 through a housing of the container, vibrates in an opposing direction, and is formed of a material affecting the magnetic flux; a stirring member 205 that cause the diaphragm 201 to vibrate; and a detection processing unit that acquires a counted value of an oscillation signal from the magnetic flux sensor 10 at a predetermined period, detects a vibrational state of the diaphragm 201 on the basis of a change in the counted value that changes according to the vibration of the diaphragm 201, and detects the residual amount of the powder in the container on the basis of the result of the detection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
