PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger which facilitates defrosting.SOLUTION: An outdoor heat exchanger 13 includes: a first header collection tube 45; a second header collection tube 50; a plurality of heat exchange parts including a plurality of heat transfer pipes 31; and a connection pipeline 55 for supplying a high pressure gas refrigerant. Each space in second header upper spaces 501 communicates with one of second header lower spaces 502. The connection pipeline 55 includes: a twelfth upper heat exchange part X12 which includes the heat transfer pipe 31 for communicating with the space in the second header upper space 501 which communicates with an uppermost stage space SP13 in the second header lower space 502; and a first branch pipe BP1 connected to the first header collection tube 45 at the same height position. The connection pipeline 55 includes: a first upper heat exchange part X1 including the heat transfer pipe 31 for communicating with the space in the second header upper space 501 which communicates with an uppermost stage space SP24 in the second header lower space 502; and a second branch pipe BP2 connected to the first header collection tube 45 at the same height position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
