PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gesture input system which recognizes a gesture while reducing power consumption.SOLUTION: A preceding action is started by moving a left arm from a natural state 281 to a preceding action start state 283. When the left arm is moved to a preceding action finish state 285, the preceding action is finished. When the preceding action is finished, a gesture is performed by moving an arm from the preceding action finish state to any one of gesture states 287 and 289. A gesture recognition system recognizes the preceding action by operating a recognition engine that is capable of recognizing a camera module at a low frame rate and recognizes the gesture by operating a recognition engine that recognizes the camera module at a high frame rate. It is enough for a user to perform the gesture continuously to the preceding action of a natural motion, and standby power in a gesture waiting state can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
