PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tip shape correction device and a tip shape correction method capable of correcting the tip shape of a steel strip unwound from a steel strip coil with high accuracy and little variation.SOLUTION: A tip shape correction device 1 for passing a steep strip 5 unwound from a steel stirp coil 2 fitted to a pay-off reel 3 through leveling rolls R1 to R5 in which a plurality of rolls are arranged in a zig-zag shape to correct at least the tip shape of the steep strip 5 to be flat includes an imaging part 12 for imaging the tip shape of the steep strip 5 unwound from the steel strip coil 2, a curvature measurement part 13 for obtaining the curvature of the tip shape on the basis of an image captured by the imaging part 12, and a control unit C for executing control to adjust the roll screw-down volumes IM of the leveling rolls R1 and R2 on the basis of the curvature D3 obtained by the curvature measurement part 13, the plate thickness D1 of the steep strip 5, and the steel type D2 of the steep strip 5, thereby correcting the tip shape of the steel strip 5 to be flat.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
