Disclosed are a method and device for saving energy for a service board. The method comprises: when a service load corresponding to a first service board is higher than a preset first service load threshold, and/or the quantity of service users in a radio resource control (RRC) protocol connection state corresponding to the first service board is greater than a preset first quantity of service users, transferring a service on the first service board to a second service board, and powering off the first service board. In the present invention, in a case in which the basic coverage of a base station is not affected, a service on a service board with low load is moved to another service board by means of handover between boards, and then the service board is powered off; and when the load of an online service board of the base station is high, the powered-off service board is automatically powered on and activated. In the method, no device needs to be added, and the system can automatically save energy. |
