[Problem] To provide a wavelength conversion member having a wavelength conversion layer including quantum dots that emit fluorescence when irradiated with excitation light, in which delamination does not easily occur at an interface of the wavelength conversion layer including the quantum dots and thus a reduction in light-emission intensity does not easily occur, and to provide a high-luminance backlight unit and a liquid crystal display apparatus in which delamination does not easily occur at an interface of a wavelength conversion layer including quantum dots and thus a reduction in light-emission intensity does not easily occur. [Solution] A wavelength conversion member (1D) includes: a wavelength conversion layer (30) including at least one type of quantum dots (30A, 30B) that are excited with excitation light to emit fluorescence and also including a getter agent (40) that captures at least one of moisture and oxygen; and a barrier layer (12, 22) formed on at least one face of the wavelength conversion layer (30) and having a moisture permeability not more than 0.1 g/(m2·day·atm), wherein the wavelength conversion layer (30) is a layer formed by curing a polymerizable composition containing the quantum dots (30A, 30B) and the getter agent (40). |
