Disclosed herein is a fluorescence-based method for high throughput screening of microorganisms harbouring conjugated bile salt hydrolase activity and a kit for screening of said microorganisms and determining BSH activity thereof. Particularly, the invention discloses Filipin based assay for high throughput screening of microorganisms harbouring conjugated bile salt hydrolase activity.
