COMMUNICATING NEIGHBORHOOD INFORMATION BETWEEN ACCESS POINTS IN NEIGHBOR AWARE NETWORK (NAN)

A method for communicating Neighborhood Information includes generating the Neighborhood Information at an access point. The method also includes communicating the Neighborhood Information from the access point to a second access point in a Neighbor Aware Network NAN. The Neighborhood Information may comprise information regarding operating classes of the access point, primary operating channels, target beacon transmission times TBTT and BSSIDs of the access points. Moreover, the Neighborhood Information may comprise time synchronisation functions TSF information.
