PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element, an electro-optic device and a mount-type display device which are capable of expanding image light and making it incident into a pupil, and an optical element manufacturing method.SOLUTION: The optical element comprises: a first light guide including a first light incident part and a first light emission part; a transflective film provided within the first light guide; a first diffraction element provided in a part of the first light incident part, and including a plurality of gratings arrayed with a predetermined pitch; a second diffraction element provided in at least a part of the first light emission part, and including a plurality of gratings arrayed with a predetermined pitch; and a reflection film provided around the first diffraction element in the first light incident part. The plurality of gratings of the first diffraction element are provided so as to have the same pitch as that of the plurality of gratings of the second diffraction element, and each of the plurality of gratings of the first diffraction element is provided so as to have the same extension direction as that of each of the plurality of gratings of the second diffraction element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
