PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a state where a residual amount of developer in a container is small.SOLUTION: A powder detection device for detecting a residual amount of flowable powder in a container, includes: a diaphragm 201 that is arranged inside the container and vibrates upon being affected by the powder in the container; a magnetic flux sensor 10 that detects a vibrational state of the diaphragm 201; a stirring member 205 that cause the diaphragm 201 to vibrate; and a detection processing unit that detects the residual amount of the powder in the container on the basis of the result of the detection by the magnetic flux sensor 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
