LIGHTING DEVICE FOR PROVIDING LIGHTING TO THE SKIN AND A LIGHTING METHOD

A skin illumination device comprises a light source arrangement for generating at least two different wavelengths of light (for different treatments) and an optical focusing element. This element has a wavelength-dependent focusing function, for focusing the at least two different light wavelengths to different depths beneath the skin surface. This enables different wavelength light to be directed to different depths within the skin, suitable for treatment by the particular light wavelength.
