PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a life prediction method for a refractory, enabling life of a refractory in a furnace body which is actual equipment to be accurately predicted.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for predicting life of a refractory 9 which is lined to an inner wall face 4 of a furnace body 1, a first refractory 9a and a second refractory 9b which is a substitute for a part of the first refractory 9a being disposed on the inner wall face 4 of the furnace body 1. In the furnace body 1 in which the first refractory 9a and the second refractory 9b coexist, an actual operation is performed, after the actual operation, wear speed (F1) of the first refractory 9a and wear speed (F2) of the second refractory 9b are measured. Then, using the measured wear speed (F1) of the first refractory 9a, the measured wear speed (F2) of the second refractory 9b, and estimated life (L1) of the first refractory 9a which is known, estimated life (L2) of the second refractory 9b is obtained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
