The invention is based on the structure of a heat exchanger of the type that is formed from a shell in which a fluid circulates so as to exchange heat with the fluid that, in turn, circulates via at least one spiral tube arranged inside such a shell, the flows being parallel and circulating in the same direction or countercurrently, the invention being characterised in that the spiral tubes provided inside the shell of the exchanger are mounted in pairs wherein the tubes of each pair respectively turn in opposite directions, the two left- and right-hand helices described by the tubes of each pair coming together at an intersection so as to generate turbulence in the circulation of the flow circulating inside the shell in relation to the tubes through which the other fluid flows.
