A work machine comprises: a grapple (6); an arm (5) to support the grapple (6); a boom (4) to support the arm (5); an upper rotating body (3) to support the boom (4); a lower traveling body (1) on which the upper rotating body (3) is mounted in a rotatable state; a main pump (14L) to supply hydraulic fluid to a grapple opening and closing cylinder (10) that opens and closes the grapple (6); a pressure sensor (S2L) to detect the discharge pressure of the main pump (14L); and a controller (30) to reduce the flow rate of the hydraulic fluid from the main pump (14L) to the grapple opening and closing cylinder (10) when the discharge pressure detected by the pressure sensor (S2L) exceeds a prescribed pressure (TH1).
