The present invention develops and provides a technique for reducing environmental impact and saccharifying a plant biomass, especially a lignocellulosic biomass, efficiently in fewer steps in order to efficiently and effectively take advantage of the energy of a plant biomass. Provided are a cellulase activator having as an active ingredient a lignocellulose degradation cofactor that comprises an amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1, and a method for saccharifying a lignocellulosic biomass by using the same.
