PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transceiver that offers an increased space for placing components.SOLUTION: An optical transceiver 10 includes a rectangularly shaped upper housing 11, a screw 16 inserted to a hole 11c formed on a front surface 11a, and a latch 15 that moves in and out of a sidewall 11d. A host system 2 has a recess 5a for accommodating the latch 15. The upper housing 11 has a recess 11g for accommodating the screw 16 and the latch 15.
