PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a novel light-emitting element or an adequately reliable light-emitting element; and a light-emitting device, a display device, an electronic device and an illuminating device which can be manufactured inexpensively.SOLUTION: A light-emitting element is provided, which comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and an EL layer provided between the positive and negative electrodes. The EL layer has at least, a light-emitting layer, and an electron-injection transport layer provided between the light-emitting layer and the negative electrode. The amount of halogen detected from a material included in the electron-injection transport layer is 30 ppm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
