The present invention relates to the technical field of display panel manufacturing. Disclosed are an encapsulating device and method, the encapsulating device being used to encapsulate a display panel; the display panel comprises a first substrate and a second substrate oppositely disposed, the first substrate and the second substrate being encapsulated via an encapsulating material; the encapsulating device comprises a first adsorbing piece and a second adsorbing piece attracted to each other via magnetism; one of the first adsorbing piece and the second adsorbing piece is configured to be detachably disposed on the outer side of the first substrate, and the other is configured to be detachably disposed on the outer side of the second substrate. The present invention effectively prevents the separation of the first substrate from the second substrate due to release of stress in the melting process of the encapsulating material, thus ameliorating the problem of poor encapsulation. Moreover, both the first adsorbing piece and the second adsorbing piece in the present invention are additional complementary units for the display panel to be recycled and used repeatedly, thus saving cost.
