The present invention disposes, at a flow path connecting a suction chamber and a crank chamber of a swash plate type compressor, a valve for opening and closing the flow path in response to a change of the inclination angle of a swash plate; and so that the pressure of the crank chamber can be supplied, controls the opening and closing of the valve in response to the case where the inclination angle of the swash plate is the maximum and the case where the inclination angle of the swash plate changes from the maximum angle to a lesser angle, thereby facilitating a change of the inclination angle of the swash plate of the compressor.
