PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-core switchable rotary electric machine which is capable of changing a power generation current or motor torque by multi-core switching, while avoiding significant increase in cost of manufacture.SOLUTION: A first coil 11A and a second coil 11B which configure a field coil are connected in series via a series diode 7A and connected in reverse parallel via two parallel diodes 7B and 7C. The series diode and the parallel diodes are fixed on a surface of a rotor core. An odd-numbered multi-core of the field coil is substantially switched by inverting a field current. Two three-phase windings 5A and 5B which configure a stator winding are connected to an AC/DC converter 3A. A terminal of each of the two three-phase windings is connected by a bidirectional switch 6. For the stator winding, a substantial multi-core of the stator winding is switched by changeover of the bidirectional switch. By switching the multi-cores of the field coil and the stator winding, motor properties which are significantly excellent relatively to the prior arts can be realized.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
