PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door latch device having simple means for halting and temporarily holding an auxiliary cover at an open position.SOLUTION: A hinge shaft 38 disposed on an auxiliary cover 36 is fitted rotatably between a pair of elastic holding pieces 42 disposed on a cover 18 that forms a part of a casing. A stopped part 39 is disposed on the auxiliary cover 36, and a stopper part 43 is disposed on the cover 18, the stopper part allowing the stopped part 39 to come in contact therewith. When the auxiliary cover 36 is rotated in an open direction, the stopped part 39 moves to an opposite side over a tip part of the stopper part 43, thereby temporarily holding the auxiliary cover 36 in an open position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
