A method of deploying an intraocular shunt, the method comprising: advancing a hollow shaft of a device through a cornea of an eye, the device comprising a housing and a plunger disposed within the shaft, the hollow shaft being coupled to the housing and holding an intraocular shunt; rotating a rotating component, coupled to the housing, in a first increment to cause distal axial movement of a pusher component, the pusher component being coupled to the rotating component via a first member that resides within a first slot of the rotating component, wherein distal axial movement of the pusher component urges the plunger in a distal axial direction to advance the shunt distally relative to the housing and the shaft; and rotating the rotating component in a second increment to cause proximal axial movement of a retraction component, coupled to the shaft, the retraction component being coupled to the rotating component via a second member that resides within a second slot of the rotating component, wherein proximal axial movement of the retraction component urges the shaft in a proximal axial direction relative to the shunt.
