PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress local overheat by reducing a loss of a rotor surface caused by unequal distribution of air ducts in an armature.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine comprises: a rotor 1 including a rotor core 3 with which field coils are stored in a plurality of slots; and an armature 2 including an armature core 7 with which armature coils are stored in a plurality of slots. The armature core 7 includes a plurality of air ducts 10 in which a cooling gas flows in a radial direction of the armature core 7, and is configured in such a manner that a duct pitch in an axial direction becomes different for each region. An air gap length between the rotor 1 and the armature 2 becomes longer in the region where a space factor of the armature core 7 in the axial direction is higher than a predetermined value, and becomes shorter in the region where the space factor of the armature core 7 in the axial direction is lower than the predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
