摘要 The present invention relates to a method for detecting environmentally hazardous chemical compounds present in the natural environment, particularly in water or soil, by using microorganism-to-microorganism or microorganism-to-plant interactions, wherein the microorganisms and plants are equipped with artificial genetic circuitry. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for detecting environmentally hazardous substances using a sender organism equipped with artificial circuitry for detecting environmentally hazardous materials, and a receiver organism that detects a signal material generated therefrom and generates a fluorescent material. According to the present invention, while growing the sender and receiver organisms, it is possible not only to detect and monitor in real time the presence of environmentally hazardous materials and pollutants in all of the environments in which the sender and receiver organisms can live, but it is also possible to achieve a wide detection area in accordance to the distribution of the sender and receiver organisms.
