A hydraulic shovel (1) comprises: a lower traveling body (2); an upper turning body (3) provided above the lower traveling body (2) in a turnable manner; a tilt-up floor (6) provided to the upper turning body (3); and a filter device (10) that purifies the exhaust gas discharged from an engine (7). The hydraulic shovel (1) is provided with an engine chamber (31) that accommodates: the engine (7); a cooling unit (8) that cools the engine (7) and is provided to the right of the engine (7); and a hydraulic pump (9) that is driven by the engine (7) and is provided to the left of the engine (7). The filter device (10) is provided inside the engine chamber (31) and above the hydraulic pump (9) in such a manner that the longitudinal direction of the filter device (10) is in the front-back direction of the vehicle body. The section of the filter device (10) that is exposed when the tilt-up floor (6) is tilted upwards is covered by a detachable protective cover (11). |
