The present invention relates to a water purifier, and more particularly, to a water purifier controlled to reduce noise. A water purifier according to the present invention includes: a main body having a filter for purifying input water; an opening/closing device for draining the purified water by the filter; a cooling device containing cooling water for cooling the purified water; a compressing device for compressing coolant for cooling the cooling water; and a control unit for controlling an operation of the main body, wherein, when it is sensed that the temperature of the cooling water is equal to or more than a first reference temperature after it is determined that the cooled water is drained, the control unit controls the compressing device to be operated after a first set time elapsed from the sensing time point. Thus, according to the water purifier, the noise felt by a user is reduced so that the sensory dissatisfaction may be solved. |
