The present invention relates to a stairway apparatus for a ship. The stairway apparatus can offer a shutoff function regardless of whether power is supplied or not while having a simple structure and completely shut off an upper deck and a lower deck to efficiently retard an intruder from moving between floors. The stairway apparatus includes: a stairway frame which is installed and held in a tilted position to connect the upper deck and the lower deck of the ship; a step plate unit which has multiple stair treads connected in a foldable manner, enables the stair tread on the lowest end among the stair treads to be fixed and coupled to the lower deck, and is installed to slide in a longitudinal direction of the stairway frame to form flat surfaces in the form of multiple steps by unfolding other stair treads with reference to the stair tread on the lowest end; a wire which has an end fixed and coupled to the stair tread on the top end among the stair treads; and a winch which is fixed and installed on the upper deck and has the other end of the wire fixed and wound thereon.
