In an air damper, a piston includes a housing groove provided at a periphery of the piston; an O-ring fitted in the housing groove, and dividing an inside of a cylinder into a front chamber and a rear chamber; and a ventilation groove communicating with the rear chamber from a groove bottom face of the housing groove. When the cylinder moves backward, an airflow flowing from the rear chamber to the front chamber accompanied by a forward movement of the O-ring inside the housing groove is reduced, and when the cylinder moves forward, an airflow flowing from the front chamber to the rear chamber accompanied by a backward movement of the O-ring inside the housing groove is increased through the ventilation groove. The housing groove is partitioned by the groove bottom face and front and back flange portions facing each other by sandwiching the groove bottom face, and three or more ventilation grooves are provided at portions dividing the groove bottom face of the housing groove and a periphery of the back flange portion into approximately equal parts. |
