A live non-invasive bacteria comprises a transgene under the control of a promotor, wherein the transgene encodes a phagocytic cell-relevant therapeutically active agent and ideally a tumor associated macrophage (TAM) relevant therapeutically active agent in the form of an effector molecule capable of re-programming a tumor associated macrophage (TAM) from a pro-disease phenotype to an anti-disease phenotype. Use of the live non-invasive bacterium in a method of treating a phagocytic cell relevant disease, especially cancer, in a mammal is also disclosed. |
