The present invention relates to a data processing system having a dual structure. The data processing system having a dual structure enables communication by using another one data communication unit when a first processing unit and a second processing unit are formed of two data communication units respectively and can not be used due to an error or the like of any one data communication unit. The data processing system connects a link to a network capable of data communication when a first switch hub and a second switch hub are formed between external network 1 and external network 2 and data communication of external network 1 or external network 2 is disabled. When any one of the first processing unit and the second processing unit is disabled, the data processing system enables bypass processing to either one which can be used.
