PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-capacity nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery having good charge and discharge cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery use comprises: a particle of a lithium-silicate compound expressed by the general formula, LiMSiO(where a is 0.02-4, b is 0.5-2, c is 1.4-4, and M is at least one transition element selected from Co, Mn, Ni and Fe); a phosphate coating film formed to cover the surface of the particle; and a carbon coating film formed thereon. A method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery use comprises the steps of: coating a particle of the lithium-silicate compound with phosphate; and then coating the resultant particle with carbon. |
