<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument where an opening part of a cylindrical part becomes a desired shape. <P>SOLUTION: A display board 40 has an index part 41. A pointer 10 points the index part 41. Pointer driving means 22 rotates the pointer 10. An end leaf member 50 has a cylindrical part 51 for encircling a rotational movement range of the pointer 10. A translucent cover 60 sees through the display board 40. The translucent cover 60 has a projection part 61a abutted to a front side opening part 50b of the end leaf member 50. The measuring instrument is provided with a decoration member 80 having a ring part 81 visually recognized in a prescribed width W from a back side opening part 50a.
