An object of the present invention is to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is suppressed in an increase of the direct-current resistance after being left under a relatively high temperature environment with low remaining battery power. For achieving the object, the present invention provides a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including a positive electrode having a particulate positive active material, and an electrolyte, wherein the positive active material contains a nickel-containing lithium transition metal oxide and has an average particle size of 3 to 15 µm, and the electrolyte contains a cyclic sulfate compound having a specific structure.
