PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide member which forms a low hardness carbon transfer layer which is tightly fastened, and improves slide characteristics for a long period even after extinction of a periodic structure and a production method of such a slide member.SOLUTION: A grating-shaped irregular periodic structure, whose salient part apex is a non-flat surface and height is varied continuously, is formed on a slide surface of a first member. An amorphous carbon film which is finished by mirror finish is formed on a slide surface of a second member. The slide surfaces of the first and second members are relatively slid, for wearing the periodic structure of the first member as a sacrifice layer. |
