The present invention relates to a method for making sweet pumpkin songpyeon (half-moon shaped rice cake) and the sweet pumpkin songpyeon made thereby. A technical feature of the method is comprising the following steps: making dough by putting rice powder, sweet pumpkin, sugar, salt, and water and kneading the same (step 1); preparing the filling for songpyeon by mixing sweet pumpkin, chestnuts, ground sesame mixed with salt, and sugar (step 2); making the skin of songpyeon with the dough and stuffing the filling in the skin to make the songpyeon (step 3); and cooking the prepared songpyeon with hot steam (step 4). The sweet pumpkin songpyeon has benefits of: having a yellow color by containing sweet pumpkin in the skin; taking nutritive components of sweet pumpkin and enhancing the flavor by containing sweet pumpkin in the filling; and serving the songpyeon having different shape, color, and taste. |
