PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low photoelastic glass which has a low photoelastic constant, is hard to crystallize, and is excellent in waterproofness; and to provide an optical fiber using the same.SOLUTION: A low photoelastic glass contains a component A that contains at least tin(II) oxide, and a component B that contains at least diphosphorus pentoxide, wherein the compounding ratio (molar ratio) of the component A and the component B is 72:28 to 67:33. |
