PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lignin resin composition containing a component originated from plants as a main material, and excellent in flowability and mechanical characteristics after cured, and to provide a lignin resin molding material excellent in moldability and mechanical characteristics after cured.SOLUTION: A lignin resin composition comprises a lignin derivative obtained by degrading biomass, and a cross-linking agent containing a compound represented by formula (1) below. The lignin resin composition is preferably a resin composition obtained by degrading biomass in semicritical water, and more preferably a resin composition containing a latent catalyst differentiating the presence or absence of the cross-linking reaction of the cross-linking agent or the rate of the cross-linking reaction in response to temperature.
