This sheet metal processing method involves cutting a mild steel plate or an aluminum plate using a DDL module which oscillates a multifrequency laser, a transmission fiber which transmits the multifrequency laser oscillated by the DDL module, and a laser processing device which, by means of a processing head that condenses the multifrequency laser transmitted by the transmission fiber and irradiates the sheet metal therewith to cut and process said sheet metal. Cutting a mild steel plate that is 1-5mm thick results in a 0.4μm or lower surface roughness (Ra) of the cut surface of the cut mild steel plate, and when cutting an aluminum plate 1-5μm thick, the surface roughness (Ra) of the cut surface of the cut aluminum plate is 2.5μm or less. |
