<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording method which can eliminate an image defect due to load variation, and a thermal printer. <P>SOLUTION: With the thermal recording method, a binary image A to be drawn is divided into a dot area a1 and an image area a2 defined by excluding the dot area a1 from the binary image A, and the binary image A is drawn by drawing the dot area a1 at first and then drawing the image area a2.
