PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of a droplet discharge device capable of forming an excellent image for each printing mode.SOLUTION: A droplet discharge device includes: a head for discharging droplets of a radiation-curable ink composition and causing the droplets to adhere to a recording medium; and irradiation means for irradiating the droplets adhering to the recording medium with active radiation. A control method of the droplet discharge device has: a first printing mode using at least a first radiation-curable ink composition; and a second printing mode using the first radiation-curable ink composition and a second radiation-curable ink composition not used by the first printing mode. In the control method of the droplet discharge device, one of the first printing mode and the second printing mode is selected and printing is performed, and energy per unit area imparted to the droplets by the irradiation means in the first printing mode is different from that in the second printing mode. |
