摘要 A magnet mounting system for a stator or rotor of an electrical machine comprises a laminated core 130,195 forming a magnet mounting surface for mounting a magnet 140a,196, the core including mounting lips 191a,191b being arranged to engage with a corresponding magnet securing elements142,197 for securing a magnet onto the mounting surface. The securing element may be a U/C shaped clip which has an engaging portion to interface with the mounting lip and a magnet engaging surface 196b carried on arm 142b. Figs 12a,12b, 67a-68c disclose various forms of clip and the magnet holding portion may be an arm, a T shaped element, a crescent shaped element, a half cylinder element a plate or a perforated plate. In an alternative embodiment the magnet engaging portion comprises a flexible structure arranged to accommodate an elongate biasing element198 which biases the two portions 191a,191b into the recessed edges of the magnets. Circumferential movement of the magnets may be prevented by a protrusion on the core surface which engage depressions in the magnet base - fig 14 or alternatively the magnets may be recessed into the surface of the core - fig11.
