A stocking, or a pair of tights made from two stocking legs, comprises a knitted tube with a toe end and a top end defining a leg portion. The leg portion may be printed either along the sides 3 leaving the front 1 and the back 2 with no printing or along the front 1 and back 2 leaving the sides 3 with no printing. The printing comprises a colour which contrasts to the base colour, and which is graduated so that the colour blends with the base colour. The application also includes a process for manufacturing a stocking or pair of tights by knitting a tube, locating the tube in a defined orientation, and printing the tube with a print colour, contrasting with a base colour, along all or substantially all of the leg portion. The invention provides hosiery which gives the optical illusion of slimming by the printing a particular design. |
