An apparatus configured for use with a magnetic resonance scanner having a field of view configured for a subject, the magnetic resonance scanner controlled by a magnetic resonance controller in order to excite and detect magnetic resonance signals at different frequencies, the apparatus comprising: an operative component that is selected from one of an interventional instrument, a radio frequency coil and an electrically conductive component configured to operate in the field of view of the magnetic resonance scanner; a cable including a conductive element, wherein the cable is arranged in order to provide electrical communication between the magnetic resonance controller and the operative component; and a resonant circuit comprising: at least a portion of the conductive element of the cable; andone or more passive electrical components connected in parallel to the portion of the conductive element of the cable,wherein the resonant circuit is configured to provide both a first impedance pole at a first magnetic resonance frequency and a second impedance pole at a second magnetic resonance frequency different from the first magnetic resonance frequency when the operative component enters the field of view of the magnetic resonance scanner; and thereby providing both the first impedance pole at the first magnetic resonance frequency and the second impedance pole at the different second magnetic resonance frequency when the magnetic resonance scanner is operated.
