An apparatus and method for reconstructing a super-resolution three-dimensional (3D) image from a depth image. The apparatus may include an error point relocation processing unit to relocate an error point in a depth image, and a super-resolution processing unit to reconstruct a 3D image by performing a super-resolution with respect to the depth image in which the error point is relocated.

1. An apparatus for reconstructing an image, the apparatus comprising:
an error point relocation processing unit configured to relocate an error point in a depth image; and a super-resolution processing unit configured to reconstruct a three-dimensional (3D) image by performing a super-resolution operation with respect to the depth image in which the error point is relocated wherein the error point relocation processing unit identifies one of a foreground point set and a background point set as a point set adjacent to the error point, and relocates the error point to the identified adjacent point set.
