The present invention relates to a negative electrode material for secondary batteries and a production method thereof. To this end, the method for the present invention comprises the following steps: preparing an aqueous solution mixed with a divalent alcohol and monovalent or trivalent alcohol; forming a reactant by mixing the aqueous solution and a silane-based substance and then carrying out a reaction; forming a carbon-containing silicon oxide which is represented by C-SiO_x and in which the content of oxygen is greater than 0 and less than 2, by treating the reactant with heat under a gaseous condition in the presence of carbon; and producing a silicon oxide-carbon composite represented by (C-SiO_x)-C by bonding the carbon material with C-SiO_x. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide the negative electrode material for the secondary batteries with high capacity and high efficiency by supplementing loss of irreversible capacity. |
