Disclosed is an electronic device to provide information in the electronic device through a virtual environment. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the electronic device comprises: a display; and an information providing module functionally connected to the display. The information providing module displays an object corresponding to an external electronic device on the electronic device through the display, obtains information to be outputted through the external electronic device, and provides content corresponding to the information regarding to an area where the object is displayed.
